Cumann na mBunscol Finals
A Proud Day for Our School at the Cumann na mBunscol Finals
Today was a very special day for our school, as we were honoured to have not one, but two teams competing in the Cumann na mBunscol finals.
First up was our newly formed combined schools camogie team of Cloneygowan and Geashill. The girls faced a strong Clara side in challenging 28' degree heat. They battled bravely throughout the match, showing great determination, teamwork, and resilience. Unfortunately, it was not our day, and the game ended with a scoreline of 0–4 to 0–1.
Next, our boys’ hurling team took to the field against a formidable Tubber side. In what proved to be an exciting and intensely fought contest, our boys showed tremendous skill and composure to edge ahead and secure a narrow one-point victory.
We are incredibly proud of both our girls’ and boys’ teams. They represented our school with great pride, displayed excellent sportsmanship, and showcased their talent so admirably.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Brenda Betson, Eimear Craven, and Eimear Carroll for their dedication, time, and commitment in coaching and preparing both teams for their finals. Their hard work played a vital role in getting the teams to this stage.
