6th Class Giving Back Initiative 🫶🏻
As part of a series of activities designed to help our 6th Class pupils give back to the school community that has given them so much over the years, the children have been taking part in a number of special initiatives these past few weeks.
These have included our "Give This to a Staff Member Who..." challenge, a gratitude letter-writing activity for a staff member of choice, and now a Teddy Bears' Picnic 🧸 for the Junior and Senior Infant classes today.
On Tuesday, 23rd June, the children spent some time reading and chatting with their younger buddies on ‘The Green’, helping to create a fun and memorable experience for our youngest pupils. The younger children showed and shared their teddies too. They enjoyed some jellies and mini muffins together and then had a play on all the park play equipment too.
To help make the picnic a success the 6th Class children prepared a present for them, brought in an old rug, picnic blanket, towel or ground mat to sit on and brought in books 📚 from their childhood to read to their smaller buddy.
The letters they shared today with our staff members were so incredibly heartfelt and beautiful and meant such a lot to our staff. They were enthusiastically ✉️ delivered with care and kindness this morning; along with a chocolate 🍫 bar and a flower 🌷🙌🏼
It has been wonderful to see the children embracing opportunities to show kindness, gratitude and leadership as they prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.
6th Class have been a great class and will be so very missed. Wishing them all the very best for the future 🥹👏🏼
