What have we done?

Children > Activities

On May seventh the second class of 2010/11 made their First Holy Communion. While first-sixth class sang in the choir. They all had a great day and they all looked lovely.

Confirmation
All the sixth class made their confirmation in Raheen church and Fr John performed the ceremony for us. It was very nice. Thanks Fr. John.

The Shoe Box Appeal
We did the shoe box this October .We got lots of shoe boxes from moms and dads and from people across our community . The shoe box was fun to do and it made us feel very happy when the boxes were given to children in Romania. Thanks to Michaela and Vicky for looking after our boxes

Faith friends
During lent the 6th class participated in the “You shall be my Witness” programme.The faith friend leaders were Caroline Kirwan, Imelda Garry and Declan Condron. On the last day of Faith Friends we had a party! All of 6th class enjoyed it and we would like to say a big thank you to the leaders.

Our Retreat
On the 5th of May this year the students from sixth class went to Mt. St Annes in Killenard on their Retreat. We talked to God and about God. We went through the gifts of the gifts of the holy spirit and when and what ones we should use.
We also meditated which was so relaxing. At the end we had a prayer service in which we prayed and sang songs.
We would also like to give a huge thank you to our drivers Fiona, Catherine and Mrs. Fox.

Credit Union Posters
Our Credit Union posters this year went to Portarlington. Congrats to everyone on their artistic, colourful and imaginative posters.
Credit Union Quiz
The credit union quiz was in Colaiste Iosagain. It was at 7pm February 4th 2011 . The people that attended were Owen Garry, Megan Kelly, PeterTobin, Sophie Carrragher,Gavin Murphy, Nicole Kirwan, Rian Condron and Amie O’’Hanlon. We all enjoyed the credit union night. It was great fun.

The Incredible Edibles
Third to sixth participated in “The Incredible Edibles” We grew potatoes, turnips, carrots, lettuce and cabbage. We worked in groups of three. We planted the cabbage turnips and lettuce in bio degradable pots. The carrots outside and the potatoes in a potato bag. Some were successful but others weren't.
We all know that we should eat our greens, finish our fruit and get our five-a-day!

Our Blackcurrant Bush
Junior,Senior,1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th and6th class all got a blackcurrant bush from Brendan Ennis. He already had the holes dug out for us and all the other classes . The plants are growing well and we are hoping for some nice tasty blackcurrants.
